Know your Roots
"I think it's fundamental to be grateful with our influences. The public recognition of our inspirations or of the works that mark our personal taste, that the future artists or fans whom follow our work, also connect with the previous generations that we have all enjoyed, imitaded or perhaps surpassed. Do not forget that without these influences perhaps our trajectory would not make sense"
-- Alfonso Girades ( Banshee ) from the book "A Colourful Mind"
(Miniature) Artists
Roman Lappat - Jarhead
Well Roman is one of the main reasons, why mini painting is the most joyful part of my freetime. Back in 2019 he was the first one I found when googling for workshops and all o my painting group agree that the magic of the frst Roman Workshop has never been reached again.

Alfonso Giraldes - Banshee
His book "A Colorful Mind" is probably the best read about miniatures I ever had. It's not about painting tutorials, but a biography and a Mind strip of one of the greatest we have in the scene.
Luckily 2023 I could join a workshop and Alfonso is a tornado. I never met anyone with that level of engagment about, art and his teaching.
Marijn Van Gils
Marijn wrote the Book "Dioramas F.A.Q. 1.3 Storytelling, Composition and Planning" and this is the first time a stumbled over his name. And after reading, I was dragged in Dioramas - which is my most beloved topic till today. I can clearly blame him for that. 2023 I met him at SMC and he is very calm and a treasure of knowledege.
Unfortunately he has not that many ressources online to show his amazing work.
Chris Suhre - D.Vader
Chris is an artist I discovered via Instagram - but as I also love mini painting literature I got his book "The art of ... Volume 4 from Dave Taylor Miniatures" in my library. This is a must have for anyone. If you are into dioramas - he is your reference (-;

Rodrigo Lucas - rodni_salmorejo
Rodrigo creates beautiful scenes that often have an intense dynamic. Mad Max desert scenes with clouds of dust, fantasy football with players deep in action or crashed landspeeder. He creates scenes that spill atmosphere and drag your mind in a different world for a moment.

Olivier Raoul - mespetitsmondesmini
I saw his massive dioramas first time at SMC2023 - the Arkham Diorama covers so many great scenes, dynamics and detail, that I could stare at it for ours.

Youtuber
There are a set of YouTuber and podcaster that greatly influenced me. Maybe not necessarily from an artistic point but in keeping the joy in the hobby and improving the "craft"
Tabletop Minions - Adam loper ( Uncle Atom )
The channel was my go-to in the beginning of my second hobby life. Atom had a great style, attitude and presented tech issues easy to grasp with a sense of humor that catches me. Also his Facebook group was my first opportunity to show minis to a greater audience

Miniac - Scott Walker - (Maniac)
Miniac is a gem of motivation. In the early years he focused on funny painting related videos that are unique - I still could **** my pants about the "paint tasting". But also the tutorials and diaries are of great value

Hobby cheating - Vince Venturella
Vince is a blast. Hundreds of free videos about techniques, tools, tips and whatsoever. The clips are not polished or perfectly cut - and that's what I loved so much. You see the whole and honest process of him working.
